The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has again donated to the Salvation Army of Newburyport fulfilling a multi-year $10,000 donation. This year’s donation was allocated to several key areas, focusing on providing utility assistance through the Good Neighbor Energy Fund. Food assistance programs, addressing food insecurity in the community, and supported disaster relief efforts to aid survivors in times of crisis. The contribution also has funded sports programs such as basketball and volleyball for grades 4-12, as well as summer camps like Camp Wonderland, offering children enriching and safe environments during the summer months.

The Salvation Army Newburyport Corps is part of the larger Salvation Army – an international movement and an evangelical part of the of the Universal Christian Church. Operating in over 130 countries, the organization is dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals, particularly the poor, homeless, and marginalized.

“From its holiday bell ringers to its swift response in times of disasters, the Salvation Army is a visible force for good,” said Newburyport Bank President John Burcke. “Their dedication to helping those in need strengthens our entire community, and we are always proud to support their vital work.”
