The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $2,500 to Lamprey Health Care headquartered in Newmarket, NH. Founded in 1971 by a group of concerned citizens, Lamprey Health Care began as an information and referral service with the goal of connecting people to health services. The group quickly realized the need for more community-based service providers. launching the Senior Transportation program over 50 years ago and since then adding locations in Newmarket, NH, Raymond, NH, and Nashua, NH.
The Foundation grant will assist Lamprey in supporting and expanding their Mobile Health Services. The Mobile Health Service Van partners with local organizations and locations to bring critical health-related services into the community. This helps remove barriers for individuals to establish primary care and ensure they are getting the help and preventative services they need.
“For over 50 years Lamprey Health has been an integral part of our community,” said John Burcke, President of Newburyport Bank. “Their services encompass primary care to behavioral health, and so much more. Mobile Health Services specifically is crucial in bringing health care services out to the community. We’re pleased to help them with this initiative and to continue to support their work.”
