Newburyport, MA – The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $3,000 to Code & Circuit, Inc., located in Amesbury, MA. At Code & Circuit, a 501c3 non-profit organization, kids learn about technology, use it to create, and have fun in the process. The organization provides a unique, hands-on, interactive approach with programs designed to inspire and encourage creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
The Foundation grant will help Code and Circuit to provide funding to buy needed supplies and equipment. It will also enable them to host classes that use technology/AI to guide youth in the exploration of financial literacy. Classes will guide students through entrepreneurial endeavors, whereby they learn how to start, finance, and launch their own food truck business. This will help to lessen the digital divide and strengthen financial literacy for students in a marginalized community, many of whom are also learning the English language.
“Code & Circuit is one of those organizations that is forward thinking and focused on our children’s future,” said John Burcke, President of Newburyport Bank. “Technology, and specifically AI, is where the world is headed, so it’s imperative that our children learn those skills. The Foundation is so proud to support this bold and worthwhile initiative.”
